Kentucky State University's College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources is seeking a dedicated individual for a USDA-funded grant project focusing on Crocus breeding. As one of only two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in Kentucky, we are committed to promoting diversity and excellence in our research endeavors.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in horticulture, plant science, or a related field (emphasis on ornamental or medicinal plants preferred) • Experience with greenhouse and field work is advantageous • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Ability to work independently and as part of a team both at the farm and in lab • Experience in plant tissue culture is preferred • A valid driver's license will be required at the start of job

• Assist in planning and carrying out research projects related to Crocus breeding • Collect, record, and analyze data accurately • Maintain detailed research records • Support greenhouse and field work tasks, including planting, watering, and harvesting samples • Collaborate with faculty and researchers to meet project goals • Present research findings and contribute to academic journals
