General Information: The Di Stilio lab at University of Washington investigates the evolution of plant development, with a focus on flowering pathway genes, and is looking for a highly motivated post doc to work on the functional characterization of LEAFY orthologs in the fern Ceratopteris richardii, while developing molecular tools for evo-devo studies in this species.
The Department of Biology is housed in the new state-of-the-art Life Sciences Building, with shared spaces and collegial culture in scenic Seattle.

Qualifications/Requirements: PhD in related field
Responsibilities: Desirable qualifications: advanced molecular biology skills and experience with plant culture, microscopy and bioinformatics, keen observational skills and a love of plants. Excellent writing and communication skills, proof of publication experience. Start date negotiable. Funding is available for two years (with the possibility of extension) via the NSF project “Comparative analysis of fern LEAFY genes and their regulatory network” (in collaboration with Maloof lab, UC Davis).
