Qualifications/Requirements: Required qualifications:
•Academic background in restoration or plant ecology,
•Expertise in some or most of the following: habitat restoration design; plant ecology; wetland and/or riparian ecology and hydrology; soil science; statistical design and analysis; and plant taxonomy,
•Solid technical writing ability,
•Strong communication and collaboration skills, and
•Willingness to travel throughout California and beyond.

Additional qualifications:
•Valid driver’s license with no major traffic violations or multiple minor violations
•Willingness to work irregular hours (e.g., early mornings, late nights, weekends)
•Ability to work in harsh and rapidly changing environments, work in all types of weather conditions, walking over varied terrain, bending, lifting, soil sampling, and carrying upwards of 50 pounds, and otherwise maintain good physical condition
•Familiarity with best practices for field safety and low impact principles
Responsibilities: We have an immediate opening in our Los Gatos office for a staff level restoration ecologist. The selected candidate will work on ecological restoration planning, design, implementation, and monitoring projects in a variety of geographic locations and habitats (riparian, wetland, estuarine, oak woodland, grassland, semi-arid, and others). The work will include an interesting blend of field work, collaborative meetings with experts in various disciplines (e.g., restoration and wildlife ecologists, landscape architects, hydrologists/engineers), and technical writing.
