Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC):
Arizona Conservation Corps, a program of Conservation Legacy, aims to continue the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930's. AZCC is focused on connecting youth, young adults, and recent era military veterans with conservation service work projects on public lands. AZCC operates programs across Arizona that engage individuals and strengthen communities through service and conservation. AZCC has program offices in Flagstaff, White Mountains, and Tucson.
Qualifications/Requirements: Required Qualifications:
-Leadership experience with youth or young adults.
-Be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record.
-All offers of employment are conditional upon completion of an acceptable check of the National Sex Offender Public Registry and federal criminal background check.
-Excellent organization skills.
-Physically fit and able to work long days in adverse conditions.
-High School diploma or GED certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience teaching, facilitation and team-building in diverse groups of people.
-Experience in Conservation Corps or Youth Corps.
-Familiarity with basic conservation skills including tool maintenance.
-Familiarity with basic chainsaw operation.
-Experience teaching outdoor experiential and/or environmental education.
-Current Wilderness First Responder or higher and CPR certification.

Responsibilities: Crew Leader Responsibilities
The Crew Leader (CL) is responsible for facilitating a positive crew member experience by setting an example of enthusiasm throughout work and camp life. The CL works together with the Assistant Crew Leader (ACL) in a strong partnership communicating directions, projects specifications, and constructive criticism through the length of the term. CLs will be expected to facilitate learning in the field for crew members, as well as mentor the ACL. Previously Corps experience is highly recommended.

Local Crew Project Work:
AZCC works with a variety of land management agencies in Arizona, such as the US Forest Service, National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management, as well as local agencies such as Arizona State Parks and local Non-Profits. This crew will focus on projects that are local to Tucson and the surrounding area in collaboration with the Pima County and other local public land agencies to improve local lands and provide service opportunities to young adults in Tucson.

There will be an opportunity for a variety of projects that range in skills and geographic location but will include desert restoration, invasive species removal, planting, parks improvement projects, and trail work. All projects require a willingness to work hard, be safe and have fun.
